Find a departure that matches your travel date and reserve the seats you need.

2. Secure your seat with a 30% deposit

Your deposit reserves your place while we bring together travelers from different surf camps heading in the same direction.

3. We confirm the departure

Once the shared transfer is confirmed, we'll send you the final departure details and a link to pay the remaining 70%.

4. If the transfer doesn't go ahead

If we are unable to confirm the shared departure at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure, you will receive a full refund of your deposit.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a shared transfer?

Prices are shown per person on each departure and may vary depending on the route, date and boat required. Children under 2 travel free. Children aged 2–5 receive 50% off the standard fare. Children aged 6 and over pay the full passenger fare. One surfboard bag and one piece of luggage are included per passenger.

How do I secure my seat?

A 30% deposit secures your seat. Once the departure is confirmed, the remaining 70% becomes payable.

What happens if the transfer isn't confirmed?

If we are unable to confirm the shared departure at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure, you will receive a full refund of your deposit.

Can I request a different date?

Yes. Send us your preferred date and route and we'll match your request with travelers from other surf camps. If there is enough demand, an additional shared departure can be opened.

Who operates the boats?

Transfers are operated by independent local boat operators. Mentawai Connect coordinates passengers, bookings and shared departures.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Sea conditions and passenger safety always come first. Departures may be delayed, rescheduled or cancelled if conditions are considered unsafe.

Mentawai Connect is a booking and coordination platform connecting passengers with independent third-party boat operators. Mentawai Connect does not own or operate the vessels.
